How to measure for vertical blinds?

Measuring width

A) Mounting inside the casing – CEILING-mount
B) Mounting above the casing – WALL-mount
C) Mounting above the casing – CEILING-mount

A) Mounting inside the casing – CEILING-mount

Measure the actual width of the casing – from the left side to the right side of the casing. Enter a value 5 mm smaller than the actual width into the order form.

An example measurement: The window casing width measured from the left side to the right side is 1,265 mm. Subtract 5 mm (the recommended reduction for mounting inside the casing). Width = 1,260 mm. Enter the values in bold into the order form.

B) Mounting above the casing – WALL-mount

The width entered into the order form is usually 200 mm more than the actual casing width.

An example measurement: The window casing width measured from the left side to the right side is 1,125 mm. Add 200 mm (the recommended addition for mounting above the casing). Width = 1,325 mm. Enter the values in bold into the order form.

C) Mounting above the casing – CEILING-mount

The width entered into the order form is usually 200 mm more than the actual casing width.

An example measurement: The window casing width measured from the left side to the right side is 850 mm. Add 200 mm (the recommended addition for mounting above the casing). Width = 1,050 mm. Enter the values in bold into the order form.

Measuring height

Measure the blind height as the total height including the headrail.

A) Height to the window sill
B) Height to the floor

A) Height to the window sill

Subtract 10 to 30 mm from the actual total height and enter the result into the order form.

An example measurement: The measured blind height (including the headrail) to the window sill is 1,790 mm. Subtract 10 to 30 mm (the recommended reduction for the height to the window sill). For our example, we opted to subtract 20 mm. Height = 1,770 mm. Enter the values in bold into the order form.

B) Height to the floor

Subtract 30 to 50 mm from the actual total height and enter the result into the order form.

An example measurement: The measured blind height (including the headrail) to the floor is 2,650 mm. Subtract 30 to 50 mm (the recommended reduction for the height to the floor). For our example, we opted to subtract 40 mm. Height = 2,610 mm. Enter the values in bold into the order form.

The maximum blind area is 20 m2.

The fully drawn stack is about 9 - 13% of the total blind width.

Instructions

For office and home use

Vertical blinds are ideal for shading large glazed areas. So you can use them not only in offices, surgeries, but also in homes and loggias.

Uncountless number of colors and their combinations

Depending on what you expect from the blind, you choose a suitable fabric. You have a choice of fabric shades that does not transmission sun rays, but light does. The second variant is darkening fabrics, otherwise also called blackout, which create darkness in the room.

Do you like thinner or wider slats?

The choice of the slats is up to you. Usually, slats 127 mm are chosen for larger dimensions of shaded areas, 89 mm for shaded dimensions about 2 meters in width and smaller.

Left or right? It can easily be on both sides as well

It is best to pull the blind to one of the sides, usually depending on where there is more space next to the window area. The slats in the closed position occupy approximately 9 - 13% of the total width of the blind. If you want to close symmetrically, you can choose either on both sides or in the middle.

Easy measuring and installation in no time

You can measure and even install any shading product from our e-shop yourself. Like for the other products, you can find assembly guides and video manuals for vertical blinds as well. See for yourself how simple it can be.
