how to do it

How to Properly Measure a Pergola?

The pergola is attached to a structure.

WARNING! A pergola requires construction readiness, meaning you should have prepared footings of at least 300 x 300 mm in size to a frost-free depth, and an electrical connection for powering the pergola. We kindly ask you to specify in your order notes which standing legs you want water drainage in and where you'd like electrical conduits.

Width

For a pergola, always measure the external dimensions of the structure. Enter the overall width. The maximum measurable width is 4,500 mm.

Length

For the pergola, always measure the external dimensions of the structure. Enter the overall length. The maximum measurable length is 7,000 mm. For lengths greater than 4,140 mm, there is always an additional central standing leg to ensure the structure's stability and weight distribution. For this type of pergola, the central standing leg is typically only on the side not anchored to the wall.

Height

The walk-under height of the pergola (i.e., the leg of the pergola) is measured. The maximum measurable height is 3,000 mm.
ATTENTION! The construction height of the roof profile is not included. Thus, the total system height will always be 180 mm higher than the ordered walk-under height. The recommended walk-under height for the pergola is between 2,300 mm and 2,500 mm.

Instructions

Sturdy construction

Various materials are used for pergola production. For us, aluminum stands out as the best. It's virtually maintenance-free, requires no care, and even after many years, it looks as good as when purchased. The surface is painted, allowing you to choose the structure in one of 7 basic colors, each typically available in 2 finishes (texture/matte/gloss).

The roofing of the pergola is made of polycarbonate sheet supported by profiles. This ensures the stability of the entire pergola and the load-bearing capacity of the roof. The pergola can withstand winds up to 120 km/h, and the roof can support up to 150 kg/m2.

Proper water drainage

The pergola includes an integrated drainage channel, directing water into one of its standing legs and then out. Thus, water doesn't accumulate on the roof but flows off smoothly.

Pergola doesn't darken adjacent interior

An advantage of the polycarbonate pergola is the preservation of light beneath it. If you're planning to anchor the pergola to the house and it covers some windows or an entrance, the polycarbonate will ensure enough light penetrates.

Pergola with a polycarbonate roof

If you want to shade the area under the pergola from low sun or protect against wind, you can order screen blinds. Thanks to their technical fabric, these blinds provide excellent shading, protect against wind, and offer privacy from neighbors' views (without completely obstructing your view).

Easy for DIY enthusiasts

If you enjoy DIY projects, you can take on the pergola setup yourself. Following our instructions, you can easily measure, order, and upon delivery, effortlessly assemble the pergola.
