HOW TO MEASURE THE PURBOX IN COJUNCTION WITH A BLIND?

PurBoxes together with the exterior blinds will be supplied with the panelling and required number of brackets which are already included in the price of the order. To place the PurBox order, all you need to know is the outside dimensions of your window. These dimensions can be found in the windows technical documentation or can be measured at the building site. 

Width

Only the outside window dimensions matter. The PurBox width is the same as the windows width.

Height

Only the outside window dimensions matter. We will automatically calculate the size of the PurBox based on the window width and further specifications selected below. 

Instructions for measuring

The measuring method used in the video guide is valid for window frames with a thickness of 40-100 mm. If the thickness is less than 40 mm (on the sides or at the top), please send us the windows technical documentation and pictures of the window allocation during the building to info@labona.eu. We will then prepare an individual technical solution and a price calculation.

Purenite boxes take the lead in terms of insulation

During the construction phase, selecting the right materials is crucial to ensure an energy-efficient home. Therefore, it is worth considering the option of external venetian blinds. One possibility is the surface-mounted external blinds, which are the most affordable, provide shade and blackout capabilities, but do not offer the best insulation solution.

If you are at the beginning of construction, we recommend opting for purenite boxes, which have several advantages:

  • The box consists of purenite and PIR insulation, ensuring insulation above the window and preventing thermal bridging.
  • Due to the materials used, the boxes do not expand or contract with temperature, humidity, or the use of construction chemicals.
  • The boxes are lightweight yet sturdy and can be easily processed with standard tools.
  • Together with the window reveal, the boxes provide an elegant solution for concealing the blind's concealed wiring, which is otherwise a labor-intensive detail.
  • Measuring the boxes is simple, and you can handle it yourself.
  • We can deliver the boxes to your construction site quickly.
  • The box installation involves a few quick steps and is not dependent on other trades, minimizing construction delays.
  • You can order the blinds together with the PurBoxes or separately once the boxes are installed.

External blinds - not just a functional element

External venetian blinds are frequently used shading elements and have become standard features in new buildings. They are excellent due to their ease of operation, allowing you to smoothly adjust the amount of light and shade in the room. When closed, they provide effective blackout capabilities.

They also contribute to noise reduction. By reflecting sunlight before it reaches the window surface, they prevent overheating and thus keep the interior cooler. In winter months, they reduce heat loss, resulting in energy savings. According to a thermal imaging report, external blinds can reduce thermal transmittance with up to 71% efficiency.

HS portals, divided windows, and corner configurations

You can fully customize the blinds to your needs, whether it's dividing them into multiple independently functioning blinds (e.g., for HS portals) or configuring them for corner windows. Double guide rails are used for multiple independent blinds in the same plane. This allows you to have one blind on the fixed part of the window and another in front of the opening part. It is more practical—you can keep one blind closed for shading while opening the other as needed when you're outside.

For corner configurations, similar principles apply, but external and internal corner profiles are used. All options are provided directly in the configurator. If you're unsure about the appropriate profile or need clarification on the dimensions for divided blinds, feel free to give us a call.
